JAIL INMATE FOUND DEAD IN CELL IN DEKALB COUNTY

An inmate was found dead in his cell by a Ft Payne corrections officer just after midnight Friday.
Ft Payne firefighters with DeKalb Ambulance Service paramedics, responded to the location and attempted to resuscitate the man who was then transported to DeKalb Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at about 1:00am.
Ft Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum, said the man 47 year old David Wayne Kuykendall had been charged with 3rd degree domestic violence at about 9:30 that night.
The Alabama Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation into Kuykendall`s death, and Chief Bynum said until the ABI investigation is complete, no further details will be released.
