the Monday meeting of the Cherokee County Commission saw several measures being approved with the first being the Alabama Department of Transportation Emergency Work Rates.
According to County Engineer Corey Chambers ALDOT requested that counties submit rental rates to the state in case of winter events being too large for the state to handle.
In such instances, the County would aid ALDOT on state roads, and would be reimbursed for the amount of $175 per hour for a spreader truck with shadow vehicle and $250 per hour for a motor patrol with shadow vehicle.
The Commission also approved to declare surplus a 1987 Ford F-350 one ton truck, a 1987 GMC one ton truck with utility bed and a 1991 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up.
Additionally a petition to vacate County Road 348 and set a public hearing on the matter at the February 27th commission meeting was approved.
Also approved were the additions to the Building Maintenance Supervisors job description at an hourly rate of $14.50 to begin.
The Commission also approved the purchase of privacy voting booths from Inclusion Solutions at a cost of $21,450 and ink cartridges for Auto Marks from ES&S for less than $1000, with each being fully refundable by the state.
The Coach Roy Knapp Resolution was approved, as amended.
Finally payments of several items totaling $3,475.41 were approved to be taken from the tobacco tax funds.
The next regular meeting of the Cherokee County Commission is set for Monday, February 13th, at 10:00am in the County Administration Building.
