ANNISTON POLICE SEARCH FOR SHOOTING SUSPECTS

Anniston police are searching for two male suspects who stole another mans car Saturday after shooting him in the leg. The victim told police he was leaving an apartment at Cooper Homes around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, when one of the men shot him in the leg, while the other searched his car and drove off with it. The 40-year-old victim was transported to Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
According to Lt. Rocky Stemen, the victim was uncooperative during police interviews and refused to give any additional information about the assault.
A witness who lives in Cooper Homes told police that she had seen the victim walking around the parking lot with a large wad of money in his pocket, soliciting people for drugs.
Police are looking into the possibility that the incident may be drug-related, but officers had few leads Tuesday afternoon, .
