BURN BAN IN EFFECT FOR NW GEORGIA

Floyd County fire-fighters battled a fire near the Chattooga County line on Monday afternoon.
Fire department officials in Floyd County said that the fire was caused by someone burning debris.
A burn-ban remains in affect until September 30th. Residents face stiff fines if they are charged with outdoor buring without a permit.
Permits will not be issued until October 1st. The burn ban is in affect from May until September in Northwest Georgia.
