DEKALB CO MAN DEAD AFTER TRACTOR ACCIDENT

In the early evening hours of Wednesday, emergency services were called to the residence of Bobby Standridge on County Road 360 in the New Harmony community. Family members had found Mr. Standridges tractor overturned in a pond in the pasture behind the residence. The family contacted emergency personnel and a next-door neighbor, who found 81-year-old Mr. Standridges body in the water.
Deputy Freddie Hairell responded to the scene. According to information Deputy Hairell obtained, it appeared that Mr. Standridge was working near a pond on a tractor with a front-end loader when the tractor rolled over on top of Mr. Standridge, then he became trapped when the tractor continued rolling into the pond.
County Coroner Tom Wilson was contacted and Mr. Standridge was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheriff Harris said, This was a terribly tragic accident. Are thoughts and prayers are with the Standridge family at this time.
