ADAIRSVILLE WOMAN CHARGED IN FATAL ACCIDENT

A 76-year old Adairsville woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail Tuesday afternoon on vehicular homicide charges. June Jacqueline Wood is accused of failing to yield while turning left, causing an accident that claimed the life of 72-year old Huey Philson Long.
According to Floyd County Police, Woods Ford Thunderbird collided with a Toyota Yaris last Friday morning at the intersection of Old Calhoun Road and Georgia Loop One.
Wood was hospitalized while Long was pronounced dead later that afternoon. Wood is also charged with failure to yield. Both the charges are misdemeanors.
