Anniston police are investigating a man accused of beating an acquaintance with a stick after the victim was treated for cuts, bruises and a swollen jaw at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital Monday afternoon.
According to Lt. Rocky Stemen, the two men were acquaintances and got into an argument involving another acquaintance between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Stemen couldnt elaborate on what caused the fight, but said the victim told police his attacker hit him repeatedly across the head and face with a wooden stick.
The suspect has also filed a harassment report against the victim that states the victim threatened to kill him before the fight, which is why he attacked the victim.
Stemen would not release the names of the suspect or victim because the case is under investigation.
The fight took place at the suspects home in the 1300 block of Johnston Drive.
