The Waffle House on Turner McCall Boulevard is likely to remained closed for a while after a Saturday evening fire damaged a storage room and an electrical unit.
The fire started because of an overloaded multi-plug that did not have a breaker, said Johnie Evans, fire investigator. The flames did moderate damage in the floor and spread into the drop ceiling, but the majority of the damage was to the electrical system.
The electrical system needs work, said Evans. Theyll be down for a while.
The structure was not significantly damaged.
