CHEROKEE COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

School Principals from around the county, were in attendance at this week`s meeting of the
Cherokee County Commission - as each was presented with a check from the Commission
in the amount of $5,000 to be used for improvements at their respective schools.
Those funds came from Landfill Royalties.
In other business a motion was passed approving the sale of trucks at the County Highway
Department and the purchase of new ones to take their place; a motion was also passed to
accept the removal of the one-foot variance - as an amendment to the county`s Flood Plain
Ordinance.
The Commission also appointed Daphne Rogers, to fill the unexpired term of Linda Prater,
on the Cherokee County Parks & Recreation Board - with that term ending January 1st of
2013.
The next regular meeting of the Cherokee County Commission - is set for Monday August
9th at 10:00am in the County Administration Building.
