It looks as though employees that have been involved in a long-running lawsuit against Mohawk Industries - may soon be receiving a settlement check.

The class-action suit claimed the company hired illegal immigrants, in an effort to keep wages low.

Last week Judge Harold Murphy closed that case in U.S. District Court - and told the plaintiffs that they are now eligible to receive payments with attornies for the plaintiffs saying settlement checks could arrive as early as September.

Mohawk, has reportedly agreed to set up an $18 million fund - with $5 million of that coming from Mohawk - and, the remaining $13 million coming from Zurich American Insurance Company.

The company must also review hiring policies and must set up a hotline for employees to report violations.

While Mohawk did not admit to doing anything wrong - they did agree to settle - thus avoiding a potential jury trial.

Employees with a legitimate claim, who were employed by Mohawk for more than 90 days will receive a minimum of $150.

Other employees will receive more, based on their length of time with the company.

Mohawk employees will receive claims forms in the mail and have until August 9th, to postmark them to be returned.
