AT LEAST TWO CHILDREN INJURED AFTER BUS ACCIDENT

A Cherokee County School Bus was struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Centre.
According to Centre Police the accident took place at the intersection of Commerce Street and Northwood Drive just before 7:30, Cherokee County Bus Number 5 driven by Centre resident Jean Ingram was attempting to make a turn at the intersection when according to reports a Dodge Caravan driven by Centre resident Cynthia Lewis rear-ended the bus.
According to Centre Police Reports no-one was transported from the scene for treatment of injuries however Weis Radio News has received reports that at least two children were transported to Cherokee Medical Center for injuries.
According to Police no charges are expected to be filed, that mishap remains under investigation.
