SUSPECT APPREHENDED AFTER SHORT PURSUIT

One person was taken into custody on Friday afternoon after eluding authorities in a chase which began in DeKalb County.
According to reports, deputies with the DeKalb County Sheriffs Department were in pursuit of a possible burglary suspect on Alabama Highway 35 heading into Cherokee County just before 2pm.
Deputies from Cherokee County were dispatched to assist after receiving reports that the vehicle the suspect was driving was stolen, it was also discovered that the individual had outstanding warrants out of Cherokee County.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center.
