Cedar Bluff rolled to their 24th win of the year beating Collinsville 69-46. The dynamic duo of Tyric Scales and Marcus Dupree lead the charge for the Tigers as Reese had 18 points and Scales 16. Nick Reed and Tony McGinnis were in double digits with 10. The Tigers opponent in Mondays Championshp will be the Gaston Bulldogs. Jared Bogle led the Bulldogs with a 21 point performance over Spring Garden 72-39..
Chad Thompson and Brannon Burt shared scoring honors for Sand Rock as they put an end to West Ends basketball season. Thompson and Burt had 14 apiece as Sand Rock notched their 24th win against only 3 losses. The final was 76 41. Sand Rocks opposition in Mondays Championship game will be Westbrook Christian as they picked up a 81-64 win over Geraldine
Glencoe and Piedmont will meet in the 3A Area 10 Championship as Glencoe downed Pleasant Valley 59-50 and Piedmont dropped Weaver 76-59.
In Jacksonville the Cherokee County Warriors battled Alexandria for four quarters before posted a 63-55 win over the Valley Cubs. Keon Rucker took scoring honors for the Warriors with 14 and Colin Perry contributed 13. Cherokee County will face Jacksonville on Monday in the 4A Area 12 Championship as the Golden Eagles had no trouble dropping Hokes Bluff 60-38.
The girls Area Championships take place tonight. On the line will be the Area Crown as well as the right to host next weeks sub regional contest.
In the 1A final Gaston will be hosting Spring Garden at 7 p.m.
Over at Geraldine, Sand Rock will face Geraldine in the 2A Championship in a 6 p.m. start.
For the 3A Championship Piedmont will journey to Glencoe to tangle with the Lady Jackets at 7 p.m.
In Centre, the Cherokee County Lady Warriors will see if they can capture an Area 12 Championship. That game has an earlier start time than the other games getting under way at 5 p.m. against Alexandria.
