ONE DEAD, ONE SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SHOOTING

A Floyd County man currently faces multiple charges including murder after shooting and killing a man in Armuchee on Tuesday afternoon.
According to information from the Floyd County Police Department, at around 4:45pm, Robert Timothy Spriggs Jr. went to the home of John Gregory Davis, at 4565 Old Dalton Road.
Following an altercation in the front yard, Spriggs shot Davis a number of times, fatally wounding him Davis, age 46, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Spriggs then fled in the victims vehicle, and drove to 127 East Clinton Drive, attempting to locate his ex-girlfriend.
Spriggs forced his way into the residence, then shot and seriously injured the homeowner, identified as 32 year old Scott Sulsberger before fleeing into a nearby wooded area.
Following several phone conversations with both his father and law enforcement, the 26 year old Spriggs emerged from the woods, and surrendered without further incident he was then transported to the Floyd County Police Station for questioning.
He was later booked into the Floyd County Jail on the following felony charges:
Murder; two counts of Aggravated Assault; Burglary; Theft by Taking; the Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime; and Cruelty to Children.
