FT PAYNE POLICE REPORTS, MAY 9th - 11th

3 Arrests Arnold Ray Valent, age 20, of Fort Payne was arrested on Alias Warrants from charges of Driving without a License and No Insurance. A 13 year old juvenile of Fort Payne was arrested for Making a False Report to Police on 5/9 at 8:08 PM. This arrest was made after our department investigated a claim by the juvenile that he was questioned by two police investigators while at Fort Payne Middle School. The juvenile first told his father the story when he got home from school Friday afternoon. He claimed that he was taken to a secluded area of the school and kept there for two hours by two men claiming to be police investigators. The father called the police department to find out what we would have been doing talking to his child. We did have an investigator and a School Resource Officer talk to a couple of juveniles at the Middle School on Friday but the child of the father that called the Police Dept. was not one that was talked too. We investigated the matter further concerned that someone may have violated school security. The school principal was contacted and assisted in investigating the claim. We work closely with school staff and follow strict rules on when, how, or where any of our officers interact with students and knew we didnt have any of our investigators at the Middle School except for an incident where one investigator assisted Sgt. Whited, one of our school resource officers. They met with two students at the Middle School and the school administration was aware of the meeting. After meeting with the father and the juvenile making the claim the juvenile told our investigator and Sgt. Whited the same story but finally admitted that what he had claimed didnt happen. Making a false claim of this nature is a serious matter. We take such claims serious and it is a waste valuable manpower investigating the claim when it turns out to be false. Anita Suzette Killian, age 45, of Fort Payne was arrested for Unlawful Possession of an Open Container of Alcoholic Beverage on 5/9 at 8:40 PM. Judy Marie Mitchell, age 45, of Scottsboro, AL was arrested on a Revocation Warrant on 5/9 at 8:08 PM.

6 Accidents with 2 injuries An accident causing two injuries occurred on 5/9 at 10:41 AM on I59 between the 220 and 221 mile marker. Injured and transported to Dekalb Regional Medical Center by DAS were a 16 year old juvenile and Nicholas Corey Hill, age18, both of Fort Payne. They were traveling north on I59 in a 1995 Pontiac with the 16 year old driving when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned.

Saturday, May 10 5/10 Burglary  residence on Taylor Rd. NW  Taken was frozen meats, canned foods, photos, and prescription medication. Total value of the items was $395. $200 in damage was caused to a door in gaining entry. There is a suspect.

5 Arrests Lloyd Alan Chatman, age 50, of Gaylesville, AL was arrested for Reckless Endangerment on 5/10 at 6:49 PM. Billy Joel Feirbaim, age 25, of Sylvania, AL was arrested for Public Intoxication, Possession of Marijuana 2nnd Degree, and Giving False Information to Police on 5/10 at 8:16 PM. Ricky Vernon Killian, age 48, of Fort Payne was arrested for Public Intoxication on 5/10 at 8:22 PM. Bobby Dewayne Bailey, age 65, of Fort Payne was arrested for Public Intoxication on 5/10 at 8:22 PM. Alberto Juan Miguel, age 28, of Fort Payne was arrested for Unlawful Possession of an Open Container of Alcoholic Beverage on 10:59 PM.

11 Arrests A 15 year old juvenile of Fort Payne was arrested for Underage Possession or Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages on 5/11 at 12:03 AM. Matias Francisco Tomas, age 26, of Fort Payne was arrested for Public Intoxication, Public Lewdness and Resisting Arrest on 5/11 at 12:02 AM. Chad Edward Williams, age 23, of Fort Payne was arrested for Public Intoxication on 5/11 at 12:23 AM. Jason Wayne Wright, age 23, of Valley Head, AL was arrested for Public Intoxication on 5/11 at 12:23 AM. Christopher Wayne Roden, age 20, of Fort Payne was arrested for DUI and Underage Possession or Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages on 5/11 at 1:06 AM. Jamie Lee Haney, age 20, of Fort Payne was arrested for Underage Possession or Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages on 5/11 at 1:06 AM. Jessica Coheley Lang, age 24, of Fort Payne was arrested for Domestic Violence on 5/11 at 1:25 AM. Glenda Sue Bradley, age 45, of Fort Payne was arrested for Domestic Violence on 5/11 at 1:25 AM. Jesse James Saffels, age 53, of Mobile, AL was arrested for Public Intoxication on 5/11 at 2:00 AM. Pamela Michelle Fleming, age 23, of Boaz, AL was arrested for DUI on 5/11 at 3:29 AM. Ken Lashay Ismaila, age 29, of Centre, AL was arrested on an Alias Warrant from a charge of Domestic Violence on 5/11 at 4:59 AM.
