ALABAMA MAN DIES IN FLORIDA MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT

An Alabama man who worked as a nurse in the Rome area was killed in a motorcycle accident over the weekend during Bike Week in Panama City Beach, Florida.
According to Panama City Beach Police Major Dave Humphries, 46 year old Robbie J. Green of Weaver, Alabama was riding his motorcycle north on Pier Park Drive at about 3:20pm when the motorcycle in front of him stopped to make a turn, and his motorcycle slammed into it. Reports indicate that Green was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and was thrown from the bike.
He was Lifeflighted to Dothan Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries.
Humphries said officials are currently conducting an accident reconstruction and those results along with the medical examiners report should take about two months.
Green had recently been working as a night shift nurse at Floyd Medical Center in Rome.
