AHSAA NAME NORTH-SOUTH BASKETBALL TEAMS

Sixty outstanding junior basketball players from all over the state have been named to the North-South teams for the 12th annual Alabama All-Star Sports Week competition in Huntsville July 14-18, according to an announcement by Steve Bailey, Director of the Alabama High School Athletic Directors & Coaches Association (AHSADCA).
The two girls teams and two boys teams will square off in a Thursday doubleheader (July 17) beginning with the girls tip-off at 6 p.m. at the University of Alabama-Huntsville gym. The boys contest follows at 8 p.m.
Sports Week, which also includes in-state all-star games in football, volleyball, baseball, softball and soccer, will feature clinics and special sessions for coaches, athletic directors, cheerleader coaches and officials. A product exposition and other related activities are scheduled throughout the week.
The AHSADCA operates under the auspices of the Alabama High School Athletic Association. Membership includes coaches of all AHSAA sports as well as administrators of member schools.
Coaches will be announced at a later date.

LaKenya Lowe of Midfield, Chelsi Matthews of Glencoe, Jessica Merritt of Talladega, Paige Parker of Cold Springs, Bailee Robinson of Elkmont, Alex Strickland of Clay-Chalkville, and Danielle Vaughn and Adrienne Webb of Sparkman.
On the SOUTH girls roster are Teralesha Baity of St. Jude, Celiscia Farmer of Lee-Montgomery, Kasey Frazier of Northview, Ashley Grimes and Kamesha Strong of Selma, Christina Hayes of Alabama Christian, Dejah Heard of Smiths Station, Erica Henderson of Charles Henderson;
Shelby Hunter of Handley, Lovie Love of Davidson, Meghan Perkins of Lee-Montgomery, Mercedes Scott of Reeltown, Jocelyn Shaw of LeFlore, Brittany Simmons of McIntosh, and Alannah Vincent of Northview.
